Enugu LG poll: 90% of immediate past chairmen failed

Enugu politician and philanthropist Prince Lawrence Ezeh has expressed satisfaction with the performance of immediate past Local government chairmen in Enugu.

Speaking in an interview the former Senatorial candidate noted that about 90-95% of the chairmen didn’t perform.

” I am not talking about the caretaker ; I am talking of the substantive chairmen that enjoyed caretaker for almost two years and elected for another two years

“Most of them did not impress us,” he said.

“The reasons why it was so I just cannot explain but I believe…like I always advise politicians, once you are in the office make very good use of it because you will come out from the office, and when you look back it’s the signature you leave behind that gives you joy that you were once in the office.

“For the new ones coming on board now I will advise that they should please…even if you don’t have much in your head to do as a council chairman, with due respect, employ those who have better heads than yourself. Get advisers.

“This political system is not just for personal aggrandisment, it’s not for outright and total enjoyment.

“You are not just there to enjoy yourself; you are in this night club today and in another night club tomorrow. You are flexing, enjoying; that’s not why they are going there.

“We are electing them to go and work. The state government is doing its part at the state level we expect the councils to complement these efforts. And development in all parts of the state will be moving at a faster rate.
