Enugu: Igwe-elect congratulates Nwanjoku on victory as Aninri LG boss

The Igwe-elect of Ogugu Ntu-egbenese Ancient Kingdom, Chief Aloysius Chiedozie Ogbonna, has congratulated Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku, on his emergence as the duly elected chairman of Aninri Local Government Area (LGA) of Enugu state.

Ogugu Ntu-egbenese Ancient Kingdom is in Awgu LGA.

The Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC) on Sunday declared Prince Nwanjoku as the chairman-elect of Aninri LGA, following the council elections which held on Saturday.

In a statement made available to newsmen on Monday, Chief Ogbonna highlighted Nwanjoku’s experience as a member of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s media team and as a former special assistant to the governor, noting that his background equips him for effective leadership.

He encouraged Nwanjoku to prioritise inclusivity and community engagement in governance by involving citizens in decision-making so as to effectively address the needs and aspirations of the people.

The monarch-elect also praised the electorate for their participation in the democratic process, commending the peaceful conduct of the elections as a reflection of the maturity and commitment of Aninri residents to good governance.

He, however, expressed optimism for the positive changes Nwanjoku will bring to Aninri LGA and the lasting impact of his leadership.

The statement reads thus: “On behalf of the people of Ogugu Ntu-egbenese Ancient Kingdom in Awgu local government area, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Hon. “The people of Aninri have high expectations for your leadership. The vision for transformative development aligns perfectly with Governor Mbah’s agenda for change in our state. We believe you have the passion and capability to foster innovation, enhance infrastructure, and improve the quality of life for all residents of Aninri.
