Ember months: Ondo security operatives begin 24 hours border patrol

The Ondo state security Network, codenamed Amotekun Corps, had commenced 2023/2024 Ember Border Patrol activities in collaboration with other security agencies to curb any criminal activity during and after the Ember months.

Commander of the corps, Adeleye Adetunji, reiterated the determination of the corps to reduce all acts of criminal activities to the barest minimum during the yuletide.

He stated this in Akure  Wednesday during the parade of 11 suspects arrested for various crimes during the week.

While explaining that six of the suspects were caught with locally-made weapons,   he added that some of the weapons were cut to size or long range, and this development is seen as their own way of preparing to destabilise innocent residents and commuters in Ondo state.

He said: “We are determined to make this act impossible and we are sending this message to them and anybody planning to make trouble during and after this yuletide, that it is not business as usual again.”
