Elections: Domestic observers hail peaceful conduct in Yobe

Coalition of  accredited election observers in Yobe state have commended the peaceful and quiet atmosphere at the general election in the state despite initial insecurity threats on Saturday.

The leader of the coalition, David Anataku, who disclosed this at a press conference in Damaturu said they were impressed.

“Upon arrival in Yobe state, we were enthused with the cordial, serene, peaceful and quiet atmosphere we met on ground”, he said.

Anataku, encouraged the security agents not to relent in their efforts in maintaining law and order by making sure the tempo is maintained.

He further called on electorates to play the game according to the rule.

The coalition includes Global Development Centre Rescue Mission, Citizen Right and Leadership Awareness Initiative, Initiative for Youth Transformation and Positive change as well as Advocacy for Quality Leadership and Health awareness foundation.
