PDPThe Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti state has passed a vote of no confidence on the police and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over what it described as “shoddy arrangement and preparation” for the conduct of the forthcoming poll.
The party also alleged that the All Progressive Congress (APC), its main rival in the June 21 governorship poll, had imported thugs and militants from Lagos and other South-west states as well Rivers and Edo sates to wreak havoc on the electorate during election.

The party called on the police to act fast to botch the APC Governors’ plan and dislodge the militants it alleged are being kept in the government House,
Addressing newsmen on behalf of the party yesterday in Ado Ekiti, a top member of the party and minister-designate, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, warned the APC governors against interfering in Ekiti election, saying that “doing so could provoke the people to taking spontaneous reaction that could cause crisis in the state.”

He said the police and INEC had not been fair to the PDP in the preparation for the election, alleging that “while the police have been protecting the APC thugs, the INEC too has not been carrying us along. We want to believe that Governor Fayemi have compromised the two bodies.”
He said: “The APC brought all these thugs so that they can be used as fake police and soldiers to rig election. We heard that they have sowed fake police and soldiers’ uniforms for hem o perpetrate the evil act.”
Bu the state Police Command, through its Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Victor Babayemi, said at a public enlightenment in Ado-Ekiti that there would not be room for fake police or soldier to perpetrate evil during the election.

Refuting the allegation, the APC Director of Media and Publicity, Mr Segun Dipe Dipe, said the allegation actually represented what the PDP was planning Ekii the people, likened the PDP’s allegation to what he termed “revised psychology.”
