Eid el-Kabir: SWAN FCT rejoices with Muslims, harps on tolerance, obedience

The Chairman of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), FCT chapter, Comrade Ndubueze Chidoka has felicitated with the Muslim Ummah, particularly in the Nation’s capital, on the celebration of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir.

Comrade Chidoka who spoke in Abuja through a press statement signed by the association’s Secretary Ikenna Okonkwo on Sunday, reminded Muslim faithful and indeed all Sports Writers within FCT on the need to imbibe the spirit of obedience and tolerance for one another.

He enjoined Muslims and members at large to always pray for the peace and advancement of the association.

While reminding Muslims on the need to extend hands of support and show love and good neighborliness as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and upheld by Prophet Muhammad ( PBUH), the SWAN Chairman asked members to use this time to pray for successful outcome of the upcoming of national election of Sports Writers.

He said, “As Muslims celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir festival, I want to admonish us to reflect on the message and lessons of the season which teach total submission,  obedience, and selflessness, we must also imbibe the tenets of Islam which promotes peace, tolerance, modesty, and love.

“On our part as a leadership, we will continue to galvanise efforts geared towards improving the lots of the association, devoid of any form of hatred and rancour.”
