Eid-el-Kabir: FCT Police deploys hugely, assures residents of safe, peaceful celebration

 

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command in preparation for a hitch free Eid-el-Kabir celebration, has re-appraised the security dispositions and deployed adequate human and material resources across the nooks and crannies of the territory. 

A press statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the command, SP Josephine Adeh, on Tuesday in Abuja, said: “The deployment, which comprises all tactical and intelligence machineries of the command anchored on inter-agency cooperation, is  distinguished by strengthened visibility policing at all praying grounds (Eid grounds) and places of social gatherings; stop and search duty; raids on black spots and uncompleted buildings; highway and border patrol; aggressive vehicle and foot patrol; surveillance and diversion points around praying grounds, which includes: Dantata Bridge and  Shema Filling Station.”

According to the Spokesperson, “In light of the above, the Commissioner of Police, in charge of the FCT, CP Haruna  Garba, wishes to reassure residents of his aggressive stance to preserving their right to a safe and serene environment throughout the Eid-el-Kabir holiday and beyond.”

She further stated, “Consequent to the operation order, the CP charged all officers to ensure no detail is overlooked as they discharge their duties in compliance with standard operating procedures.

“The CP equally felicitates with residents while enjoining them to uphold the virtues of the festivity as they join the Muslim faithfuls across the world in celebration.”
