Eid-el-kabir: Ex-AMAC appointee preaches persistence in love, peaceful co-existence

Former Chief of Staff to the immediate past Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Alhaji Ibrahim Tanko Likita, has congratulated the people of the Area Council and Muslim adherents across the world on the celebration of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir, while urging them to persist in love and peaceful-coexistence.

Likita, also a frontline aspirant to the AMAC chairmanship seat, in his Sallah message contained in a statement on Sunday, wished all the Muslim faithful a happy Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

He said the lessons of sacrifice, patience and faith as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim in the cause of his earthly journey should be imbibed by all Muslim faithful.

He said the good gestures and love should be extended to the less privileged in the society as the way Allah expected from all faithful, adding that such acts should not be restricted only to the festival.

On the coming FCT Area Council election in AMAC, the former Chief of Staff enjoined the Muslims to also use the occasion to pray for peaceful elections in Abuja and called on the political class in FCT to always play the game by the rules, so as to ensure just and order in all their activities ahead of the elections.

He, therefore, promised to run AMAC administration in a transparent manner and ensure that all communities in the Area Council are given adequate attention in the distribution of infrastructural facilities and social amenities, if elected as AMAC Chairman.
