Effiong Akwa speaks on 2023 elections, scores INEC high on performance

 

The former Interim Administrator of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Dr. Efiong Okon Akwa, has applauded the process of the just concluded 2023 general elections in Nigeria by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, describing as the best since the return of democratic administration in 1999.

Speaking with selected media practitioners last weekend, Dr. Effiong Akwa noted that the election which saw the emergence of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the President-Elect cannot be faulted by any sane individual or groups, which according to him, for the first time in the history of the country where three political parties won equal states, saying that only transparency and due process would have brought about that.

Speaking further on the development, Dr. Akwa said INEC has proven its worth by displaying its credibility through such admired elections, and called on other contestants to see the need to align with Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu for the progress of the country.
