EFCC chairman tasks auctioneers association on need for moral rectitude

The chairman of Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has charged the Nigeria Association of Auctioneers (NAA) to be a reliable partner in order to operate on  moral grounds.

He made the remarks while welcoming the executives of the association who were on a courtesy visit to the commission Tuesday in Abuja.

The chairman was represented by the commission’s secretary, Mohammed Hammanjoda.

He said: “The commission is delighted to have you because we admire your professionalism and together we shall make Nigeria great again.

“We have broaden our horizon by bringing you into the system as professional auctioneers because we always do our due diligence.  Whatever you do as professionals as engaged by the government, you have to make sure the government gets the right value.”

The national president of the NAA, Alhaji Aliyu Kiliya, thanked the commission for patronising the association in the disposal of assets forfeited to the federal government.

He said, “We thank you for carrying us along. It is important to note that some government institutions who are yet to patronise us are regretting and are now looking our way for help. It is no longer news that we have helped to generate over N75b to N80b to some government institution due to our professionalism.”
