Edo poll: Oshiomhole inaugurates APC campaign council

Ahead of the September 21 governorship election in Edo state, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated its campaign council.

A former governor of the state, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, who inaugurated the Council on Friday, said, “Every member and supporter of the APC is a member of the campaign.”

Oshiomhole, who is the chairman of the Campaign Council, expressed optimism that the APC would democratically win the election for genuine change under the leadership of its candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo.

“Titles do not matter. I urge every member of the party in the state to work hard to win their units and wards, because every member is canvasser,” he said.

Earlier, the state chairman of APC, Emperor Jarrett Tenebe, alleged that Governor Godwin Obaseki had derailed from Oshiomhole’s legacy in governance.

Tenebe acknowledged the  late Dr. Samuel Ogbemudia, Prof. Ambrose Alli and Comrade Governor Adams Oshiomhole as “governors who provided good governance for the state.”

Also speaking, the director-general of the Campaign Council, Senator Matthew Urhoghide, urged members to work hard, adding that the task of defeating the government in power was huge.
