Operatives of Edo state police command has foiled a robbery incident along the Benin-Lagos expressway in the early hours of Tuesday
Spokesman for the command, Chidi Nwanbuzor who stated this in Benin City said one of the armed robber met his waterloo during an exchange of fire with the operatives.
He said one of them was also arrested with gun injury; while another escaped with bullet wounds.
Nwanbuzor stated that the hoodlums were operating along the Benin-Lagos road between Fulani junction and Bob Izua market when men of Okada police division swooped on them.
“On sighting the police, the hoodlums engaged them in gun duel and due to the superior fire power of the police, one of the armed robbers was gunned down.
“The following items were recovered from the hoodlums; one cut-to-size locally made single barrel gun, one long toy gun, one machete and two torchlight,” he stated.
