Edo guber: Disquiet as vice chairman quits APC

Barely three months to the September 21, governorship election in Edo state, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Vice Chairman in the state, Chief Francis Inegbineki has resigned from the party.

His resignation was contained in a letter dated June 7, and addressed to the ward 9 chairman of APC in Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo state.

Inegbineki cited recent developments in the local government and the state APC, which according to him, conflicted with his core principles and values as reasons for his decision.

He added: “this has led me to do a serious evaluation of my political future in Edo state and decided on the way forward.

“After due consultations with my family, friends and political associates, I wish to formally inform you of my decision to resign my membership of the APC.”

The APC was yet to react to the development as at the time of filing this report.
