Ahead of Edo 2024 governorship election, the member representing Etsako Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Dekeri Sunday Anamero, has cautioned against politics of turn-by-turn politics.
He said reducing Edo state to “just mere turn-by-turn politics would be dangerous for our collective polity, economy as well as the survival of the state.”
Anamero, who is seeking the All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination in the gubernatorial poll, stated over the weekend when he flagged off his campaign, as he charged the people to beware of ill-prepared aspirants.
In response to questions from journalists on the agitation by Edo Central senatorial district that it is their turn to govern the state, the aspirant said: “In my view, every aspirant from Edo south, central and North senatorial district that possess the basic requirement is eminently qualified to aspire for the position of governor.
“There is nothing wrong in aspiration, but if you love Edo state, this entitlement mentality has to be put to check because it brings about incompetence and carelessness without feeling for the common man.”
Anamero said his administration will on the first day in office introduce free and compulsory education up to secondary level while student in tertiary institutions will enjoy bursary support if he is nominated and elected.
