ECOWAS Ambassadors to members: Get ready for Addis Ababa 2023 summit 

The National Association of ECOWAS Professionals Secretaries on Community Development, in conjunction with the Local Government ECOWAS Ambassadors of Nigeria, has called on the registered members of the Associations to meet with the coordinators of their constituency for update of the 2023 Summit in Ethiopia – Addis-Ababa. 

The national coordinator of the association, Dr. Victor Adebayo, in press statement signed by the national publicity secretary, Beatrice Okoye and Chief Patrick Lasese, made the call over the weekend during the meeting of the association in Lagos.

The statement quoted the national coordinator, Dr Adebayo briefing journalists at the end of the meeting, during which he stated that the opportunity for this year’s summit is open to the registered members of the association only, noting that “the selection was not motivated by any political interest.”

He also added that “the summit is for only principal officers and other members with corresponding values those that met the obligation of the association.”

According to the statement, “All the contingents to participate in the 2023 Summit will be communicated through the coordinators of their constituency before the official date of the November 2023 Summit due to security challenge in the country.”

Dr. Adebayo urged the participants to cudgel their brains to contribute on the discourse which is on the economic conditions and challenges responsible for the social unrest in the African sub-region, among other related issues aiding crises in Nigeria.

He then called members to pray for peace and success of the summit, which he said would add value and finesse to the entire membership.
