Ebonyi: PDP gets new chair

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Ebonyi state chapter, weekend elected a new chairman, Peter Nwele.

This was as the party said that it has settled every internal crisis.

National Vice Chairman, South East of the party, Chief Ali Odefa, said PDP was putting things together to wrestle power from APC in 2027 which he described as opposition party.

Odefa who disclosed this during PDP Congress held at the party secretariat, Abakaliki under the supervision of a seven-man committee from the National secretariat of the party, National Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies emphasised that the enthusiasm and love for PDP in the state and the country in general was still very strong.

He dismissed any crisis in the party saying, “there has been total reconciliation, the NWC is one, we are one”.

He implored the new executive of the party in the state to embark on total reconciliation and rebuilding the party.

On his part, the newly elected state Chairman of the party, Nwele Peter, said PDP will start bringing those that left the party back to form a formidable force to take over the state in 2027.

Ugonna Ogbonna, Chairman of the Congress committee, described the exercise as peaceful and transparent, commending members of the party for conducting themselves orderly.
