Touched by the plight of widows, orphans and the elderly in the country, a non-governmental organisation, Adani Care Foundation (ACF), Monday night, organised an Easter party for the less-privileged at Amube Evuazu-Obeagu Umana autonomous community in Ezeagu local government area of Enugu state.
In addition to the joyous party, the foundation also gave out several bags of 50kg rice to over 150 indigenes as well as offered free medical care.
The foundation’s mission is primarily to create public awareness of the abject poverty that ravages the rural communities of Nigeria and to help reduce the impact of poverty by helping to lift members of the community above the poverty line.
Their target is the rural communities of Nigeria especially widows, orphans, youth, adults, the sick and the elderly with the theme: “We Rise By Lifting Others.”
Speaking at the occasion, the chairman of the occasion and a community leader, Emmanuel Aneke, aka, Nwachinemere, thanked the founders of ACF, Prof. and Mrs Josephine Nneka Jemie for their benevolence and magnanimity at sustaining the foundation that took off since 2022.
