Eagles land in Yaounde, eye another victory

Th e Super Eagles are now safely booked at the Hilton Hotel in Yaounde after a 50-minute fl ight from Uyo with top offi cials of the Nigeria Football Federation optimistic of another good outing against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon when both sides clash later tonight in another tantalizing encounter.

Th e Super Eagles had a feel of the pitch yesterday evening (Sunday) It was gathered that the weather is lot hotter in Yaounde than Uyo, where it was raining for several days.

Eagles assistant coach Imama Amapakabo told SCORENigeria he does not expect Zambia to put pressure on Nigeria on the road to Russia 2018 as he believes Algeria will avenge the 3-1 loss they suff ered in Lusaka yesterday.

“Zambia will lose in Algeria and that means both teams will have four points each and that will be good for us,” he said.

“It will be better that they beat each other.  “Everything is falling in place for us.

” Algeria will welcome Zambia to Constantine on Tuesday night.

Today’s match between hosts Cameroon and Nigeria will be played inside the Amadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaounde and it will kick off at 6pm Nigerian time.

Nigeria top their qualifying group with nine points from three matches.

Zambia are second on four points, Cameroon slipped to third with two points after a 4-0 bashing in Nigeria and Algeria are bottom with a point.

Th e overall winners of the group will qualify for next year’s World Cup in Russia.
