Participants who received the recently conducted UNCTAD/ECOWAS on-line training to become e-commerce practitioners have been awarded certificates of excellence for their individual contribution during the exercise.
The permanent secretary, ministry of Communication Technology, Dr. Tunji Olaopa who presented the certificates to the successful candidates, stressed the importance of staff training which he said would enhance the productivity of officers in the public service.
Dr. Olaopa highlighted e-learning as a pivotal initiative for the ministry’s growth, urging that people should be trained to be using the little resources in their hands to acquire more knowledge, and not just sit down and complain as it were.
“For one to succeed in civil service there should be a change of mind set to that direction,” he said.
He tasked the successful candidates to be ready as they would be called upon to share the wealth of knowledge that they have acquired with other colleagues during the capacity workshop.
his remarks, Mr. Majekodunmi Oluwole who spoke on behalf of the participants thanked the management for giving them the golden opportunity to learn more in their various fields, revealing that the training has broadened their knowledge and was better equipped to put the acquired skills use.
