DPO’s murder: Police nabs 6 suspects 

The Rivers state Police Commissioner, CP Nwonyi Emeka Polycarp, along with his management team and tactical units, conducted an operation weekend in Odiemude community, Ahoada East local government area of the state  to recover the deceased DPO’s body and conduct an on the spot assignment of the community. 

Spokesperson, Rivers state Police command, SP Grace lringe Koko, in a statement, said during the operation, six suspects were arrested with the community. 

The statement also said that during the operation, some items were seized . They include, locally crafted pistol and various charms, adding that the suspects and the confiscated items are currently under the police custody and they are undergoing interrogation at the state CID, Port Harcourt. 

The statement said as a result of these development, the community has been deserted by its residents. 

It also hinted that a new DPO, SP Zuokumor Richard, has been assigned to take charge of the division. 

“SP Richard was accompanied by half  a unit of men from Mopol 19,56, and tactical teams. The new DPO has been tasked to thoroughly search the area, apprehend the culprits responsible for the demise of DPO Bako, recover the body, and location of any operational weapons used. This operation will continue while the investigation is ongoing,” the statement concluded.
