Dosunmu market fire incidence: Bode George assures traders of assistance

Former deputy national chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP),Chief Olabode George, has assured traders in Dosunmu market on Lagos Island whose shops and warehouses got burnt that he would do everything possible to impress on both federal and state governments to assist them.

The Dosunmu market got burnt about a month ago due to careless attitude of some traders putting fuel into a generator which exploded and burnt about 20 houses and 120 key clap stores.

Chief George said he would have visited the traders earlier, but that he travelled out of the country when the incident happened. He impressed it on the traders that the matter at hand is not political, but welfare of the people.

The PDP chieftain who was accompanied by former deputy governor of the state, Senator Kofoworola Bucknor- Akerele, former state chairman of the PDP, Captain Tunji Shelle (retired) was received at the market by the traders who complained that since the market and their wares got burnt, they have not received any assistance from either the federal government or state government.
