Don’t shield criminals, IGP tasks community leaders

By Chizoba Ogbeche Abuja Th e Inspector-General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris, has tasked traditional leaders and residents of Zuba and its environs to collaborate with the Police by exposing criminals and persons with questionable character living among them. IGP Idris handed the charge at Zuba Police Divisional Headquarters during his visit to interface with members of the community at Zuba Police Divisional Headquarters, with a view to address the people’s security concerns. A press statement by the FCT Police Public Relations Offi cer (PPRO), DSP Anjuguri Manzah, the police boss while reiterating his commitment to end the menace of kidnapping and other criminal activities, sought the cooperation of the community leaders and stakeholders.

He said IGP Idris also urged them to check the activities of their youths, who are mostly recruited to perpetuate criminal activities by criminal elements in the society, just as he tasked them to provide sound religious and moral guidance for their youths. On their part, Zuba community leaders, youth leaders and various stakeholders at the event in their separate remarks pledged their resolve to continue to support the police through the provision of timely information. Th ey also assured the Inspector-General of Police that criminal elements once identifi ed will be exposed
