Transactions on the floor of Nigerian Exchange on Friday closed upward, gaining N129 billion as bulls dominated market activities.
Market capitalization of listed equities appreciated by 0.23 per cent to N55.394 trillion from N55.265 trillion recorded the previous day.
The NGX All Share Index also increased by 223.33 basis points to 96433.53 points from 96210.20 points recorded on Thursday.
The result showed that gain in the shares of Oando, Flour Mills, Nigeria Breweries, NGX group, Stanbic IBTC, Zenith, RTBriscoe, Berger and 31 others impacted positively on the market.
As a result, year to date return improved to 28.97 per cent as NGX printed 39 gainers against 18 losers.
Volume of trades also went up by 3.893 million, representing 1.00 per cent as investors traded 392.509 million shares valued at N12.023 billion in 7981 deals against 388.616 million shares worth N9.565 billion exchanged hands the previous day in 9897 deals.
An analysis of the investment showed that that Oando Plc and UACN led gainers table with 10 per cent each to close at N81.40 and N20.90 per share respectively.
Berger Paint, SFSReits followed with a gain of 9.97 per cent to close respectively at N18.75 and N148.35 per share, RTBriscoe added 9.83 per cent to close at N2.57 per unit.
On the contrary Deap Capital topped losers chart, declining by 9.62 per cent to close at N0.94 per unit, PZ trailed with a loss of 9.52 per cent to close at N19.00 per share, Eterna Plc down by 6.25 per cent to close at N19.00 per unit, Conhall Plc down by 5.59 per cent to at N1.35 per unit, AIICO Plc fell by 4.35 per cent to close at N1.10 per unit.
Trading in the shares of Jaiz Bank led market activities with 54.368 million shares valued at N124.572 million, Zenith Bank followed with account of 34.618 million shares worth N1.286 billion, Notore gained 34.333 million shares cost N2.146 billion, Transnational Corporation of Nigeria traded 21.843 million shares valued at N240.328 million, United Bank for Africa exchanged 20.602 million shares valued at N478.385 million.
