Domestic equity closes higher, gains N184bn 

Transactions on the floor of Nigerian Exchange on Wednesday remained bullish, appreciating by N184 billion as gains in the shares of Aradel, Conoil, Nigerian Breweries, Oando, Wapco lifted market value..

Market capitalization of listed equities appreciated by 0.31 per cent the N59.715 trillion from N59.531 trillion it closed on Tuesday.

The NGX All Share Index also increased by 302.71 basis points to 98509.68 points from 98206.97 points reported the previous day.

The good performance recorded during the day was a result increase in the number of companies closed positive direction

As a result year to date return went up to 31.64 per cent as 34 firms closed in green against 17 companies took negative direction

Trading result during the day showed Afriprudential, Conoil Plc and RTBriscoe led gainers table with N10 per cent, to close at N14.30, N352.00 and N2.42 per unit respectively.

Gold Breweries followed with a gain of 9.95 per cent to close at N7.18 per share, NEM Insurance added 9.74 per cent to close at N10.70 per unit.

On the contrary, Julius Berger topped losers chart, declining by 10 per cent to close at N155.25 per unit, NSLTECH trailed with a loss of 9.52 per cent to close at N0.58 per share, Multiverse down by 7.63 per cent to close at N5.45 per unit, HMCall fell by 6.07 per cent to close at N4.95 per unit, Honey Well Flour dipped by 5.62 per cent to close at N4.70 per share.
