The Police Service Commission (PSC), Monday, approved the promotion of 66 senior police officers with the Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Olatunji Disu; and CP Works, Force Headquarters, and former Head of Projects and Equipment at the Nigeria Police Trust Fund; CP Ifeanyi Uka, as well as 18 others being elevated to to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIG).
A press statement by the PSC Head, Press and Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani, said the Commission, in addition to approving the promotion of 20 CPs to the next rank of AIGs, it also considered and approved the promotion of 19 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) to the substantive rank of CP.
“Thirteen Superintendents of Police (SP) and 14 DCPs were also elevated to the next ranks.
He listed the new AIGs to include: CP Special Fraud Unit, Force Headquarters, Fasuba Akinyele Olabode; CP Admin, FCID, Musibau Omolabi Ajani; CP Katsina State Command, Aliyu Abubakar Musa; former CP Explosive Ordinance Disposal EOD, Force Headquarters, CP Anti Fraud section FCID, Director of Sports Nigeria Police Force and Deputy Commissioner Finance and Administration Force Headquarters, Patrick Adedeji Atayero; CP Cross Rivers State Command, Gyogon Augustine Grimah; and CP Kwara State Command, Olaiya Victor Mobolaji.
Others are: CP Taraba State Command and Commandant Police College Oji River, Chukwudi Chris Ariekpere; CP FOM, Force Headquarters, Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu; CP Interpol FCID, Olalolu Adebowale Adegbite; and CP SEB, FCID Annex Lagos, Godwin Iguh Eze.
Ani said the Commission also promoted to the rank of AIG, CP Admin PAB, Force Headquarters, Alausa Hakeem Tolani; CP Interpol Annex, Lagos, Kareem Musa; CP Zamfara state Command, Mohammed Shehu Dalijan; CP Niger State Command, Dan-Mamman Shawulu; CP SERVICOM R&P Force Headquarters, Clement Robert; CP Bauchi State Command, Musa Auwal Mohammed; CP Office of the National Security Adviser, Thomas Abraham Nabhoni; and CP ICT. Force Headquarters, Abel Jangnap Miri Zwalchir.
Similarly, the 19 DCPs promoted to the next rank of CPs are; DCP R&P Force Headquarters, Usman Tahir; DCP Admin and Finance Force Headquarters, Sunday J.A. Okoebor; DCP Zonal CID, Zone 5, Benin, Ayodeji Faniyan; DCP Zonal CID, Zone 2, Lagos, Saka Adewale Ajao; DCP PSFU, Lagos, Omole Ola; Deputy Force Provost, Force Headquarters, former Deputy Commissioner Administration, Osun State, Area Commander, Hope Urunwa Okafor; and Area Commander, Badagry, ACP Admin, Plateau State Command, K, Morogbo.
Others are: DCP DFA, Zone 17 Akure, Ajo Geofrey Ordue; DC Pensions Force Headquarters, Olufunke Adeayo; DCP X squad, FCID Force Headquarters, Ogunbode; Stephen Olubunmi Ogedengbe; DCP SCID, Oyo State Command, Iyabode Oluwatoyin Agbaminoja; DCP State CID, Enugu State Command, Adebowale Lawal; DCP Operations Kwara State Command, Ojo Adekimi; and DCP DFA, Ondo state Command, Yemi John Oyeniyi.
The Commission also approved the promotion of DCP Disaster Management Ops Force Headquarters, Obasi Mary Okereke; DCP Ops Eastern Ports, Port Harcourt, Moses Ashu Ottah; DCP ZCID Zone 16 Yenagoa, Felix Akoneme Nnebue; DCP CID, Railway Command Lagos, Gazali Alade Abdul-Salaam; DCP Administration, Anambra State Command,
DCP, State CID, Enugu, DCP General Investigation, FCID and former Chief Security Officer to two governors of Enugu State, Fidelis Ndubuisi Ogarabe; and DCP State CID, Ogun State Command, Principal Officer 3 to former IGP Ibrahim Idris, Former Area Commander Area A, Lion Building Lagos and former Lagos State Command PRO, Olubode Ojajuni.
The Commission also approved the promotion of 13 Superintendents of Police (SPs) to the next rank of Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) and 14 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) to SP.
He said all the officers appeared before the Commission during plenary and were subjected to examination and interactive interview.
The spokesperson further stated that the Commission Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (retd.) presided over the exercise and was supported by DIG Taiwo Lakanu (retd.), Honourable Commissioner representing the Police in the Commission and Chief Onyemuche Nnamani, Secretary to the Commission.
