Disaster management: Kano governor receives donation of fire-fighting equipment

The Kano state governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has reiterated his administration’s dedication to emergency preparedness for safety of lives and properties.

This was contained in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Wednesday,

during the unveiling of two fire-fighting vehicles allocated to Kano state by the Federal Fire Service.

Governor Yusuf gave assurance to make judicious utilisation of the two digital fire-fighting trucks recently provided by the federal government.

He accepted the donation from the Controller of the Federal Fire Service, Kano command, conveying his gratitude for the gesture and pledging to furnish the necessary resources and support for the service to discharge its constitutional duties efficiently.

The governor also praised the federal government for the donation, emphasising its significant benefits to the people of Kano state by enhancing their safety and security.

He highlighted that the new fire-fighting vehicles would markedly enhance his administration’s ongoing endeavors to ensure a swift and efficient response to fire emergencies.

In his address, A. Kazeem, the Controller of the Federal Fire Service, Kano command, underscored the importance of the newly deployed digital fire-fighting trucks in safeguarding lives and properties in the state.

He stated that out of the 20 states selected to receive the fire-fighting trucks, Kano state was privileged to be among the recipients.
