DEPOWA canvasses support for less privileged

President of Defence and Police Offi cers Wife Association (DEPOWA) and wife of Chief of Defence Staff , Mrs. Omobolanle Olonisakin has canvased for more support for the less privilege in the country. She made the appeal when she led members of the association on a visit to Amazing Grace Home and Daughters of Abraham Foundation in Kado and Jabi, Abuja. In her remark, Mrs. Olonisakin the elderly in the society deserves more of our love to help them psychologically.

“In our society we forget about the elderly we only concentrate on womenand children, psychological the elderly needs our love and care,” she said. She said their visit aff orded them the opportunity to show love to the elderly and motherless children by donating some items to them. “Every eff ort you render to the elderly and to the vulnerable in the society count, we will grow old and also needs help in the future. We need to assist them to feel at home, also the elderly deserve respect,” she said. In their separate remarks, Proprietors of the centres, Dr. Ifeyenwa Udokolo and Evangelist Margret appreciated DEPOWA’s humanitarian services.

Th e said such gesture would go a long way in giving hope to the hopeless. Th ey urged government to contribute more to making the elderly live comfortably in the society. Th ey also urged the government to make a law that will protect the elderly and the vulnerable in the society.
