pressure group, Delta North Grassroots Movement (DNGM), has said that the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Mr. Peter Nwaoboshi, had the prerequisite political experience to represent Delta North at the National Assembly.
Director-General of the group, Emeka Nmadu, told newsmen in Asaba that Nwaoboshi’s over 20 years experience as a legal practitioner “makes him conversant with legislative procedures and standards.”
He said Nwaoboshi’s political experience both at state and national levels which spanning over 35 years was most needed at present for Delta North senatorial district to have a vibrant representation at the next National Assembly in 2015.
Nmadu, a former council chairman for Oshimili North, said the PDP chairman’s doggedness, outstanding bargaining skills and his insistence on fairness and equity had ensured victories for the party in previous elections across the state.
He said the group as noted the various expressions of interest by political gladiators for the senatorial race and has found it imperative to reiterate “our strong conviction that an Anioma governor in 2015 should be accompanied by a vibrant senator.”
He said: “This desire necessitated an extensive investigation and search for a representative that will best impact on the socio-political well being of Anioma people. Our inevitable conclusion is that Nwaoboshi is best suited to hold the office for the politically conscious Anioma people at the Senate in 2015.”
He said the Movement consisted of past council chairmen, PDP’s council chairmen, legislative leaders, councillors and other leaders from Delta North, adding that “very soon, various local council chapters will soon be presented with flags an exercise that will commence from June 20 at Agbor.”
