Department of State Services (DSS) yesterday moved the immediate past National Security Adviser (NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd), to the Headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), in Abuja, just as he is to appear in court today.
Dasuki was arrested by the operatives of DSS on Tuesday from his Asokoro residence against existing court order granting him leave to travel for medical treatment abroad.
The ex-NSA is to appear before a Federal High Court in Abuja for the hearing of the motion filed by the federal government seeking to revoke the bail granted him.
At the last resumed hearing of the suit, lawyer to the federal government, Mr Mohammed Diri, told the court that a notice of appeal has been lodged at the Court of Appeal challenging the judgement of the court granting bail to Dasuki.
He had been granted bail by a Federal High Court to enable him seek medical attention abroad after pleading not guilty to charges of alleged illegal possession of firearms and money-laundering preferred against him by DSS.
The service had continuously laid siege to his Asokoro residence restricting his movement even as he approached the court to enforce his fundamental rights which was granted.
However, the federal government insisted on appealing the bail and consequently re-arrested to be quizzed on the N2 billion arms purchase scandal.
