Dangote driver drowns in Edo river

A yet-to-be identified driver of Dangote Group of Companies on Sunday drowned in Ovia River in Edo state.
The incident occurred after his truck, with Yobe registration no: YK137XA, reportedly lost control and plunged into the river.
The Zonal Commanding Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr Charles Akpabio, who confirmed the incident, said the Dangote employee was not the only victim of the crash, adding that  two other male passenger in the truck sustained injuries.

He said the AUMAN marked cement-laden truck was coming from Lagos state and heading towards Benin City when the accident occurred.
Akpabio said the FRSC officials on patrol hadevacuated driver’s body that was trapped below the truck.
He urged transport companies to ensure that their vehicles are in perfect working condition, adding: “We also ona  daily basis advise drivers to rest very well when they become fatigued and  avoid intoxicants while under the wheels.”
