The Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has commended Daniel Ford Foundation for its philanthropic gestures to humanity.
NIDCOM director of Media, Public Relations and Protocols Unit, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, in a press statement Tuesday in Abuja, said the commission’s boss, who was the Special Guest of Honour at the Daniel Ford International Elite Table Tennis Tournament held at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos, commended the the company’s CEO, Mr. Yemi Edun, for sponsoring the tournament and empowering the youth in the process.
She also applauded the Lagos state government for creating the enabling environment for the tournament to hold.
The NIDCOM boss called on other Nigerians in the Diaspora and other public-spirited individuals and organisations, both home and abroad, to emulate this laudable initiative.
She also congratulated the beneficiaries for the unique opportunity to exhibit their talents at the championship.
Responding, Mr Edun appreciated the commission’s boss for gracing the occasion and pledged that he would continue to embark on impactful programmes, particularly for the youth.
Blueprint reports that Mr. Abdulfatai Abdulbasit, representing Kwara state, won the Under-19 Boys’ category, while Miss Ayoola Kabirat, representing Lagos state, won the Under-19 Girls’ category at the two-day event aimed at discovering new talents.
