A chairmanship aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Gwagwalada area council, Zakari Shuaibu Anagada, has promised to transform the area if elected.
Shuaibu, who made the pledge at his declaration for the chairmanship race in Tungan Maje council ward on Saturday, noted that the provision of social amenities for the residents would be given top priority if he was given the mandate.
He blamed the deplorable state of infrastructure in the area on bad governance since its inception.
The chairmanship hopeful said the decaying social amenities were occasioned by misappropriation of funds meant for development projects in the council by its previous administrations.
“Gwagwalada is the second biggest area council in FCT, but the infrastructure are in a bad condition which is caused by poor governance,” he said.
He vowed to evolve areas that would bring about rapid revenue generation for execution of people-oriented programmes.
According to him, there is every need to provide basic amenities for its residents to qualify it as a place in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
