Cripple’s twin babies detained for N20, 000 hospital bill

A cripple whose wife gave birth to a set of twins at Kwara state Civil Service Clinic in Ilorin, has cried out for financial assistance to settle the hospital bill.

The cripple, Moruf Saliu, said the babies were delivered at the clinic on Wednesday, but could not be discharged because of his inability to pay the N20, 000 charge by the hospital.

Saliu, a 37-year-old watch repairer, said he had since been running around to get the money, but his efforts were not yet fruitful.

He said he found it difficult to settle the bill because his wife delivered days when she just left the hospital after being admitted and treated on Blood Pressure related crisis.

The cripple, who said they had three children before the twins, appealed to the state government and spirited individuals for assistance.
