COVID 19: Taraba gov lauds NYSC on intervention

 


The executive governor of Taraba state, Darius Dickson Ishaku, has commended the efforts of corps members in the state in mitigating the spread of the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

Ishaku lauded the corps members during the presentation of items at the Taraba State Government House, Jalingo, Wednesday. The items which were produced by the corps members include hand sanitizers, liquid soap, face masks and buckets fitted with taps.

The governor who was visibly impressed,  appreciated the Director-General of NYSC, Brig-Gen Shuaibu Ibrahim, whose astute leadership, he said, has made the Scheme a reference point for community development initiatives in the state and the country at large.

He therefore, appealed to residents to adhere to the lockdown and other best practices in order to stem the spread of the pandemic.

In his remarks, the state coordinator, NYSC Taraba, Mr David Pwanidi Markson, thanked the governor for his untiring commitment to the scheme in Taraba and pledged the continuous support of the NYSC to the development of the state.

Among the dignitaries present at the occasion are the state deputy governor, Engr Haruna Manu; the Speaker of Taraba State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Joseph A. Kunini; the state’s Commissioner for Health/Chairman, State Task Force on COVID 19, Dr Innocent Vakai, and Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development/Chairman NYSC Taraba Governing Board, Hon. Ibrahim Adam Imam, among others.
