COVID-19: Sule directs Nasarawa lawmakers to go on isolation


Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state, Sunday, directed the Nasarawa state house of Assembly members to go on self isolation following the death of one of its member Suleiman Adamu who died as a result of COVID -19 on Friday.


Sule announced this while addressing newsmen in Lafia on Sunday.


He said the Speaker and all members of the state house of Assembly including the staff have gone into self isolation and their samples have taken for tests.


” Because of the association and contacts we have decided that we are going to shut down the house of assembly until we trace all his contacts”

” I am happy to tell you that all the members of the assembly including the speaker have agreed to be isolated”.

He also said that family members of the deceased member of the state house of Assembly representing Nasarawa Central and those who participated in the burial rites had been quarantined.

Sule added that all contacts of the late member will be trace and tests to ensure their health status of the pandemic.
He however,  explained that Nasarawa state has nine positive cases but one death of COVID -19.


“From the result i am just giving you, you will notice that Nasarawa state has nine positive cases but one death of COVID-19


He appealed to people of Nasarawa state for their cooperation especially during this period.
