COVID- 19: Nigeria at risk – Expert

As the raining season gradually set in, Director Public Health Services,Kwara State Ministry of Health, Dr Oluwatosin Fakayode, said Nigeria is at risk of the spread of COVID- 19  and need to be adequately prepared to contain the virus.

She said Nigeria must face the reality that the number of infected persons aremmincreasing and must be prepared adequately.

“COVID 19 is here and the number is increasing .We need to detect the cases and contain spread .We are at risk. Therefore we need to prepare adequately,” she said

Passengers stranded at motor parks

Meanwhile hundreds of passengers mostly students who intended to travel home to reunite with their families following closure of their varoius school’s were Monday stranded at various motor parks in Ilorin’.

The large turnout of passengers at the motor parks forced transpoters to hike Thier fare inspite of the reduction of petroleum pump price by the federal government.

Our correspondent who visited some motor parks in Ilorin reported that Toyota passenger bus from Ilorin to Lagos which uses to charge 2,200 now goes for N3,500 while Toyota Sienna buses now charge N 4,500 .
