COVID-19: Nasarawa lock down Karu LG

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa sate Wednesday imposed a 24-hour curfew on Karu local government area of the state for the period of 14 days with effect from Thursday April 2, 2020.

He stated this during a press briefing on the update of COVID 19 in the state in Lafia.

Sule said due to the total lockdown of the Federal Capital Territory, the state has become so concentrated by people, emphasizing that entry into the state has also been restricted to between 6pm and 6am.

He said movements within Lafia, the state capital would be allowed between 8pm and 6am.

He said the measure became imperative to curb the spread of Coronavirus following influx of people to some parts of the state especially Karu due to total lockdown of the Federal Capital Territory.

He explained further that workers on grade level 1 and 12 should be working from home.

The governor however, called on the residents of the state to comply with the directives and charged security agents to ensure full compliance.
