COVID-19: Enugu Assembly suspends sitting


Owing to the rampaging scourge of coronavirus all over the world, the Enugu state House of Assembly has adjourned sitting till April 21, 2020.

Speaker of the House, Hon. Edward Ubosi, who announced this on the floor of the House, Tuesday said the suspension “is for members to go and quarantine ourselves at home.”

Ubosi went ahead to order the staff of the assembly to stay off work until the April 21 resumption.

He said those on grade levels one to twelve should not come to work whereas those on grade levels 12 and above should  coming to work.

Ubosi went spiritual and said with God, Nigeria will outlive the coronavirus scourge.

“We can witness what is happening in the world today.  Coronavirus is a trial to move us to believe in God.

“With God, we shall live to testify that coronavirus will not have any effect on any of us,” he declares.
