COVID-19: CBN donates protective material to Bauchi govt


The Bauchi state Branch of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has donated personal protective materials, hand sanitizers and face masks to the state government to support it in the ongoing fight against COVID-19.


Presenting the materials Wednesday at the government house Bauchi, the Branch Controller Alhaji Idris Andaza said CBN will continue to support critical stakeholders in any difficult period.
He said the gesture was in appreciation of the state government’s support to the branch. 


” This materials were donated in support of the ongoing anti COVID-19 campaign in Bauchi state as part of our contributions to the people and government, our staff are very appreciative because of the support of the government to us.


” In any critical period like this, we should come in to assist where we can, like the materials we donated here, and we appeal for judicious utilization of the materials.” He noted.


Responding, the Chief of Staff, government house Bauchi, Dr Ladan Salihu who received the items on behalf of the state government, expressed gratitude to the branch for the gesture.


Salihu said the donated items will go along way in assisting the state government to fight and eliminate the scourge of the pandemic.


“I will like to on behalf of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Bauchi state, Sen. Bala A. Mohammed Kauran Bauchi, and His Excellency, the Deputy Governor Senator Baba Tela who is the Chairman of the Task Force welcome you to Government House Bauchi, and in doing so to appreciate the CBN for this timely humanitarian gesture.


“As a government, this is hugely appreciated and for your sympathy to the people and government of Bauchi state on this COVID-19 pandemic, in accepting this support, I want to encourage other institutions based in the state capital to emulate this kind of gesture. He said.
