Former Nigeria’s military leader, Abdulsalami Abubakar, and Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, have led another ECOWAS delegation to Niamey, Niger’s capital.

The delegation was firstly denied access into the city and could not meet the junta leader General Abdourahmane Tchiani few weeks ago.
The coup leader of July 26, 2023 later apologised and stated that they were initially angry at ECOWAS for not listening to their own side of the story before issuing an ultimatum.
Since there has been engagements between the junta leader and few personalities in Nigeria and beyond.
Few days, he welcomed and listened to a delegation led by the 14th Emir of Kano, Emir Sanusi.
