Corps members offer scholarships to 30 students

President of Nigerian Corpers HIV/AIDS Awareness Campaign Foundation Benjamin Onoja has said that the foundation, as part of its Community Development Service (CDS), has offered scholarship to 30 students to study in different secondary schools in Kaduna state. Onoja disclosed this at Government Secondary School, Sabo, where 10 students will study on the scholarship. Onoja said 12 students were given scholarships to study at Government Secondary School (GSS), Kawo, while eight others were at Sardauna Memorial College (SMC).
He said as cheap as the school fees might seem, there were many indigent families who could not send their children to school. One of the beneficiaries, Mercy Bitrus, expressed happiness, saying the Peer Educators Club formed by the fund in schools “helps people to make decisions about HIV/ AIDS.
We also enlighten the club members on prevention and control of the virus and other sexually transmitted diseases,” she said.
