Corps member executes ICT project for girl- child education in Zamfara

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member 2016/2017 Batch B serving in Zamfara, Sarah Obaro Egbo, has executed projects for the development of information and communication technology (ICT) study at the Government Girls Day School, Samaru in Gusau the state capital, worth over N200, 000 with a view to improve girl child education in the state

Commissioning of the project, the NYSC zonal inspector, Mr Nomar, described the effort of Egbo as a welcome development as it would inculcate computer knowledge to female students in the state

Speaking shortly after the formal commissioning of the Queen Amina Girl Child Education ICT Centre project yesterday, the initiator of the project, Egbo said it comprised of educational materials such as note books, pens, computer learning calendar, 5 desktop computers, renovation of ICT room as well astraining facilities for the students learning

She explained that, the project was in line with one of the 17 goals of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

She appealed to the school authority to properly handle and maintain the project so as to continuously serve the purpose for which it was executed Th e sponsor of the project, a former Zamfara state chairman of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Dr

Tijjani, enjoined youth corps members serving in the state to emulate similar projects that have direct impact on the lives of the people

He also commended Sarah Egbo for her foresight and called on her to maintain the tempo till the end of her national assignment, stressing that NMA would continue to work with the state headquarters of the NYSC to improve service delivery
