Consul Akpakwu congratulates Akume on appointment as SGF

Consul Emmanuel Akpakwu of the Philippines Consulate Lagos-Nigeria has congratulated immediate past Federal Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Senator George Akume, on his appointment as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

Akume’s appointment as the new SGF was made public by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, Friday, May 2, 2023 through a statement by State House Director of Information, Abiodun Oladunjoye.

Consul Akpakwu, in a press statement issued on Sunday in Abuja by his media consultant, Dr Igomu Joseph Augustine, described Akume as the most fit for the job and thanked President Tinubu for rewarding his labour and efforts with this deserving appointment.

 “Consul Emmanuel Akpakwu, on behalf of the consulate, joins the Nigerians in celebrating this significant moment in Senator Akume’s distinguished career as a politician and public servant.

“Senator Akume’s appointment as the SGF is a demonstration of his exceptional leadership, dedication, and solid commitment to public service. 

“Throughout his tenure as the Federal Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Senator Akume exhibited remarkable expertise, efficiency, and a deep understanding of the intricate workings of government affairs.”

Continuing, the statement said: “Consul Emmanuel Akpakwu recognises Senator Akume’s invaluable contributions to the development and progress of Nigeria. His extensive experience and astute decision-making abilities have consistently driven positive change and fostered strong intergovernmental relationships.

“The Philippines Consulate, under the guidance of Consul Akpakwu, looks forward to strengthening bilateral ties between the Philippines and Nigeria, and to collaborating with Senator Akume in areas of mutual interest.
