Constituency project: Senator doles out 698 rice milling machines, irrigation water pumps

Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed (Binani) representing Adamawa central senatorial district, Monday gave out  698 equipment to her constituents for job creation and empowerment.

A statement from the lawmaker’s media office Monday in Abuja listed the items to include irrigation water pumps (100);  sprayer kits (570);   rice milling machines (14) and  tricycles (14). 

Similarly, the lawmaker distributed 139,000 free exercise books to Junior Secondary Schools in the senatorial district, with a further promise of providing hand motorised-boreholes in all the seven local governments in her district.

Speaking at the event, the lawmaker said the various items were procured through constituency project to empower her people.

She said:“In October last year, I sponsored an empowerment programme for 385 youths and women through various trainings for skill acquisition  in various trades and occupations. They have by the end of last December concluded various trainings and we are now waiting for the issuance of certificates and starter packs for them to be on their own or even become employers of others.

“We are here today to distribute various items procured through Constituency Project to empower our people. These include: irrigation water pumps (100); sprayer kits (570);  rice milling machines (14) and tricycles (14).           

“In addition we are providing hand motorised bore-holes one in each of the local governments of Adamawa central senatorial district.  And also we are providing branded 40,80 and 60 leaves exercise books to Junior secondary students in at least four local government areas of Adamawa state. They are  Gombi (23,000 exercise books); Song(23,000 exercise books); Yola South(33,000 exercise books); and Yola North(60,000 exercise books).

“The remaining three Local Government Areas of Fufore, Girei and Hong will receive their exercise books in due course.

“For the purpose of clarification, the earlier listed items will be distributed proportionally to  all the seven local government areas in the district. These and many more items that would facilitate and make our people engage in meaningful economic activities and others would be provided at this occasion and immediately after.

“We are also constructing one health centre (a clinic which is 30% completion at Jili, Uki-Tuki Ward in Fufore local government area.”

“Finally, let me assure the people of Adamawa central, these items are provided to all our people irrespective of party affiliation, gender or religion. It is for the benefit of all people in Adamawa Central Senatorial District. Let me also say, very soon I will return again to commission another very important facility I am providing in each of our 76 Wards in  Adamawa Central,” the lawmaker further assured.
