Congresses: Gombe APC appeals to national c’ttee over fairness, justice

All Progressives Congress of Nigeria (APC) in Gombe state has appealed to its National Interim Committee not to favour individuals or groups in the forthcoming congresses in order to avoid possible disintegration of the party in the state.
The party, which made the appeal in a communiqué it issued after its state stakeholders’ meeting on Tuesday.

The communiqué, signed by Alhaji Sulaiman Hassan, said they unanimously resolved that all parties in the state that formed the APC wanted fair and justice during the forthcoming congresses.
It also enjoined the national body to observe and enforce the party’s guidelines on congresses and to direct its congress committees to do justice to all without fear or favour.

Speakers at the meeting included a House of Representatives member, Hon. Khamisu Ahmed Mailantarki, governorship aspirant of the CPC in 2011,  Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu, and elders of the party.
Blueprint reports that the meeting ended with mixed feelings amongst the delegates as side talks on how to contain new entries, especially from the PDP who seems to dominate positions in the APC in the state, was the order of the day.
