At least five persons were confirmed killed, Sunday night, at different villages of Kwal and Miango in Bassa local government area of Plateau state.
One mosque was also reported to have been destroyed at Kwal.
The Police spokesman in Plateau state, ASP Ubah Gabriel Ogaba, confirmed that the attack and killings of four persons took place at the hinterland of Kwal, while a local source confirmed the killing of one person at Miango.
ASP Ogaba said, “An attack too place at kwal and four persons lost their lives. The police is on top of the situation. The area is calm.”
He however, did not comment on the reported killing of one Abdullahi and the alleged destruction of a mosque.
But, a community youth leader at Miango said, “Abdullahi Yusuf Nadabo (Babawo) 33 years was attacked and killed by gun shots at his shop arond 10:30pm on Sunday.”
Renewed hostilities between Fulani herders and the farming community of Irigwe have been killings people from both sides of the divides, as a results of land and other related disputes.
