Confab group appeals to delegates on Nigeria’s unity

A pressure group under the aegis of National Unity Forum (NUF) formed at the ongoing National Conference yesterday appealed to other delegates to consider  as matter of priority the nation’s unity in  all their deliberations.

The group said delegates at the conference owe the country a duty to proffer the best they can for the benefit of generations coming after them.

Addressing journalists yesterday at the venue of the conference, Senator Ibrahim Mantu, who read the address  on behalf of the delegates, reminded other delegates that the  conference was meant to further cement the country’s unity to compliment efforts at various levels aimed at further strengthening both the country’s  present and its future.

“We must remember that this nation cannot achieve anything meaningful as a nation when we live continually in acrimony, suspicion, discordance, verbal, physical and psychological fights that are baseless and retrogressive.
“We urge confab delegates and all Nigerians, to eschew dangerous games that will, in anyway, tinker with our unity and destiny as a nation.”

“We must unite in our fight against forces of evil, enemies of our progress, destroyers of our collective aspiration, agents of destabilisation, enemies of our collective resolve and continuity as a nation matching towards greatness.” Mantu said.
