COAS Oluyede inaugurates educational centre in Bauchi community

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General O.O. Oluyede, has assured that the armed forces are ready to defend the nation at all costs.

General Oluyede, represented by Major General M.S. Ahmed, made this known during the inauguration of a large-scale educational center for children and adults built by a senior military officer, Major General Aminu Shehu Chinade, in his hometown of Chinade in Katagum local government area of Bauchi state.

The Army Chief added that the responsibility to protect the lives and property of the people of the country lies in the hands of the security agencies, hence they will not fail to fulfill their responsibilities at any cost.

He appealed to the people of the country to support them in carrying out their duties successfully and commended Major General Aminu Shehu Chinade, for his work in helping his people, even though the military administration also contributed to the success of this joint effort as they have a similar system in place to support any senior military officer in carrying out development projects for the people.

Speaking at the outset of his mission to build a massive educational institution with 6 classrooms, 2 dormitories and others for his people in Chinade, General Aminu Chinade, said the reason for this is to fulfill his responsibility to contribute to his people as he himself was given free education from primary up to secondary school.

He added that it has been almost three years since he launched a foundation to provide scholarships to students and so far over 200 students have benefited from this initiative.

He also thanked the Chief of army Staff for giving him the courage to carry out this project and thanked the Bauchi state government, the Emir of Katagum and the Katagum local government area for their support in carrying out the project.
