CNS to promoted officers: be dedicated, hardworking

The Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Adm. Usman Jibrin, has charged newly promoted officers to be dedicated , hardworking in their assigned task.
Jibrin, represented by Chief of Policy and Plans, Rear Adm. Ameen Ikioda, gave the charge in Abuja  on Thursday  while decorating nine newly promoted Lieutenant to Lieutenant Commander with their new ranks.
He said all the system requires from those promoted was more hard work and dedication.
“Today those of you that had been decorated and recognized by the system to have contributed enough for you to merit your elevation is a thing of joy. I must say by this elevation, all those innuendos that we used to tolerate from you as lieutenants will no longer be.
“As you grow higher the responsibilities that are trust on you becomes higher too. And we expect too that your response time will be improved, most of the things will not be overlooked.”

The CNS said that the promotion was a pointer to the fact that their new ranks requires greater performance on their assigned task .
He also urge the officers to celebrate their promotion adding that it was not all of them that sat for the examination that were successful.
“I urge you to be grateful to President Goodluck Jonathan and the Chief of Naval Staff for finding them worthy. I also urge the families of the newly promoted officers to continue to support them.”
Responding on behalf of other promoted officers, Lt.-Cdr.Biodun Ayeoyenikan promised that the officers will continue to discharge their duties with absolute loyalty.
He also thanked the president and the Chief of Naval Staff for the honour done them.
Those decorated were Lieutenant Commanders Biodun Ayeoyenikan, Dennis Ikpi, Emeka Amadi, Bakatu Etsu, Salisu Bawa, Mutiu Olasunkanmi. Other  are Lieutenant Commanders Tidah Kurmi, Abubakar Usman and Omotayo Bamidele
