A Christian cleric in Nasarawa state, Rev. Naphtali Enwongulu, has called on parents to give top priority to the education of their children, adding that education is the best legacy they should leave for their children.
Enwongulu, who is the minister in charge of Mission Field Evangelistic Out Reach for All Nations, gave the admonition at the weekend in Keffi during a thanksgiving service in honour of Prof. Barnabas Barde of Nasarawa state University, Keffi.
He said that, for a dream to come to fulfillment, the individual must work hard, even as he urged students and stakeholders in education to emulate Professor Barde’s example in order to excel in life.
He also called on Nigerians to live holy life and exemplary life style by shunning all negative tendencies in the society, noting that it is only righteousness that could exalt an individual and a nation.
“We are all gathered here today to celebrate and to appreciate God for upgrading Barnabas Barde to the rank of professor as it is good to always give thank to God, hence the need for this thanksgiving.
In his remark, Barde said he decided to organise the thanksgiving so as to appreciate God for seeing him through to the rank of professor.
